We have heard so much about the temptations that Hua Hin has to offer: inviting beaches, low cost of living, beautiful weather, delicious native cuisine and of course, their hospitable locals. Many people, especially foreigners like us, are going to this destination in Thailand to buy property.
Me and my husband are also looking into moving to Hua Hin next spring. With that said, we wanted to do a research to find out how life works there. We travel and stayed there for a month, rented a villa temporarily, and live as if we were there full-time to try the lifestyle out.
After our stay, we shared our thoughts about living in Hua Hin. We came up with our top 10 reasons why it should be our next potential home and we would like to share it you in case you are also dreaming to live in this beautiful paradise.
1. Weather

Hua Hin is one of the driest places in Thailand because it behind the shadow created by the mountain. It never gets cold and usually pleasant at any time of the year.
The peak season in Hua Hin has the perfect weather, it is on the month of November to February. These months have a lot of tourists because it is the best time for beaches and outdoor activities.
2. Cost of Living
The cost of living in Hua Hin is generally low so we think that we can upscale our lifestyle with less living expenses here. If we will eat and shop like a local, we can keep our costs down.
Let’s face it, one of the main reason why people move to Thailand is because it’s pretty cheap. Housing, foods, entertainment, transportation, clothes, personal care and many more are very much more affordable.
3. Beach

Our dream environment is to have a lovely seaside scenery. This is one of the best things Hua Hin has to offer. We were attracted with its finest white sand with clear waters.
There are also many beachside restaurants and bars around if you want to have some refreshing drinks and foods. Many people are trying water activities and there is plenty of opportunities to have like jet skiing and waterskiing. So if you’re planning to move or even just visit in Hua Hin then a visit to the town’s main beach should be on your list.
4. Safety
As per poll surveys, Hua Hin is one of the safest places all over Thailand. In the time we’ve stayed there, I’ve never had one feeling of trouble. It is a calm and safe place for everyone. Violent crimes are very rare but of course it’s smart to exercise caution, especially when it comes to dealing with strangers and travelling alone.
5. Higher Profile of Residence

Hua Hin is one of the most popular destinations for property buyers in Thailand. Unlike Bangkok, Hua Hin has more luxury places to stay at, perfect for family residence or even just couple.
You can find many interesting new property projects in Hua Hin, including condos, villas, bungalows, and more. Developers offer rentals if you just want to stay during vacations or even own a property to settle for good. It is also optional if you want to live in your property for a couple of weeks every year.
6. Proximity to Bangkok Capital
Bangkok is a main hub in Southeast Asia for many international flights, and from there, it will only take two to three hours drive to the capital by road.
What’s more important is almost all kinds of transportation there travels from the main capital to Hua hin so you will have a lot of options to choose from. You can ride bus, minivan or train. Also the taxi would be an option, as the distance is just about 200 kilometers. But for some people who do not want to spend much, shared taxi would also be okay.
7. Good Infrastructure
Thailand is no longer a third world country and infrastructure now is generally quite good. Transportation infrastructures are well-developed, they make travel much more easier with their improved rail, road, air and water transport. Top level hospitals, international schools, supermarkets, banks and other institutions are also very accessible for everyone’s convenient. Other than that, internet technology is very fast, widely available and usually free.
8. Golf Paradise

Hua Hin is the birthplace of Thai golfing, here you’ll fall in love with many golf courses that will give you the chance to combine an exciting holiday with your favorite sport. There are now 11 golf courses within 30 minutes drive from Huahin centre.
‘Black Mountain Golf Club’ is the most popular golf course in Hua Hin. This course hosted several asian events and continues to set the standards in terms of quality and facilities. Another best award winning golf course is the ‘Banyan Golf Club’. It is well maintained and the views and landscapes are just incredible that makes you want to return time after time. You should also consider playing at Springfield Country Club, Majestic Creek Golf Club and Royal Hua Hin Golf Course, which is Thailand’s first golf course.
9. Shopping Malls

Market Village and Blúport are the two major shopping malls in Hua Hin. Both of these offers everything you need and it became a one stop place for us – fashion shops, electronics, food courts, international restaurants and many more. The two also have big groceries for all your needs. Furthermore, they are not just a mall to shop but they are also a great place to have a good conversation at a coffee shop or just relax at a spa and have great time.
10. High Quality Properties
The highlight of our vacation is to look for the best place to be our next home. There is a lot selection of properties in Hua Hin; from apartments, condos up to the quality ones. But there’s only one that stood up for our taste.

This luxury Balinese style pool villa is situated with just a 10 minute drive to the city centre, and is few minutes away from the championship course Black Mountain. It really amazed us by its quality level. Villas are well designed and semi furnished which you can lease or own.
This is offered at a very competitive price for quality villa in such a superb location.
